Red Cross assesses flood devastation in Dogon Ruwa
….100 houses, food items, others affected

No fewer than 100 houses were destroyed and 500 persons rendered homeless following a heavy rain fall in Gombe State.
The incident which occured in Dogon Ruwa community, Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State washed away 15 goats, food items and other property.

In a statement signed by the Red Cross Gombe Branch Secretary, Murtala Aliyu, the flood left devastating impact on the people of Dogon Ruwa.
“With lack of shelter becoming a pressing concern for many of the community members as families have been exposed and vulnerable to risks.

“So far, the Red Cross has embarked on assessment of the situation and will send situation reports to the Headquarters for immediate support,” the statement added.
