The Beast did the unthinkable at Summerslam
By Daniel Mfoniso
Brock Lesnar surprised the 59,194 Detroit fans with a Hug to his opponent after a defeat at SummerSlam, WWE’s second-biggest show of the year, at Ford Field, Detroit.

The 36th installment of SummerSlam featured a stacked card like four main events and four championship matches.
LOGAN PAUL vs. RICOCHET.

Paul and Ricochet started the night as “Maverick” was at hand to get to Dallas in time to watch his brother Jake Paul’s boxing match against Nate Diaz. Paul worked heel early in the match but Ricochet controlled the match early before an elbow from Paul shifted momentum in his favor.
Though the two produced some highlight worthy moments, Ricochet was still having the upper hand before he went for a match-ending 630 which Logan dodged. The megastar was then given brass knuckles by one of his buddies which he used to land another “lucky punch” on Ricochet to score the pinfall.
WINNER: LOGAN PAUL.
CODY RHODES vs. BROCK LESNAR.

Rhodes wisely got the jump on Lesnar the moment the match started. Rhodes rattled off a pair of Disaster Kicks before Lesnar cut him out of the sky. The start of the match was a typically back-and-forth moves that showed how familiar each man is with one another.
Yet, it still did not take Lesnar long to take over and deliver a beatdown on his opponent with series of German Supplex and F-5s but Cody refused to stay down.
Rhodes changed the momentum when he sends Lesnar to the ring post followed up with a steel stair. The turn of event came when Lesnar went for an F5 but Rhodes countered and hit a trio of Cross Rhodes to secure the win.
After, the match Brock did the unthinkable by congratulating Rhodes.
WINNER: CODY RHODES.
SLIM JIM SUMMERSLAM BATTLE ROYAL.
Unlike a typical royal rumble match, all the 20 superstars were in the ring before the sound of the bell. Any contestant that is thrown over the ring rope with both feet touching the ground is eliminated. The last person standing would be crown winner.
The final four men were Sheamus, Reed, Knight and AJ Styles. Karrion Kross eliminated Styles from outside the ring, after an entertaining final sequence, Knight threw out The Celtic Warrior for the win.
WINNER: L. A KNIGHT.
RONDA ROUSEY vs. SHAYNA BASZLER.
The former best friends locked horns in a “MMA rules” match, which the referee explained before the match. The only way the contest was going to be won was by knockout or submission.
After a sequence of throws and counters, Baszler hit Rousey with two leg kicks and a head kick, sending Ronda out of the ring.
Baszler eventually locked in the Kirifuda Clutch on Rousey has she passed out, resulting into a Technical Knock Out win for Baszler.
WINNER: SHAYNA BASZLER.
