50 pupils get scholarship from Misilli Community Development Foundation
No fewer than 50 primary school pupils in Dawaki ward, Gombe Local Government Area are expected to benefit from the Misilli Community Development Foundation.

PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the Foundation is an initiative of the Director- General Press Affairs, Gombe State Government House, Alhaji Ismaila Uba Misilli.
In its maiden scholarship is expected to ensure that no less than 50 primary school pupils benefit from gesture.
While breaking down its schedules the Director of the Foundation, Yusuf Hamza, on Monday said Misilli Community Development Foundation is working out a strategy to increase the number of beneficiaries from Dawaki ward to state level, adding that “the foundation is targeting 500 school pupils every year.”
He said both secondary school pupils and students from the tertiary institutions will also benefit from the gesture as time goes on.
Hamza said, “The Foundation which is an initiative of Mr. Ismaila Uba-Misilli, the Director-General, Press Affairs, Gombe Government House is being sponsored by Misilli to contribute to the development of his community and support the education policies and programmes of Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State.
“We have been doing a lot before launching this programme and we intend to mobilise towards ensuring that we support government’s effort to get every child in school.”
Hamza lauded Yahaya for prioritising education which had resulted into the enrollment of thousands of children in schools, saying “likewise we commend Misilli’s passion to develop his community and give children their right to get education.”
The event which was attended by some officials from the Ministry of Education, many of them appreciated the gesture and promised to work closely with the Foundation towards achieving its objectives.
On his part, Mr Mohammed Abdullahi, Director School Services, Gombe State Universal Basic Education Board said the gesture was a welcomed development, noting that the education of children was a collective responsibility of all stakeholders.
Abdullahi advised parents whose children have not been in school to make efforts towards the education of their children.
Our correspondent reports that the school incentives include school bags, sandals, uniforms, writing materials among others were shared to the beneficiaries.
According to the Foundation, the gesture was aimed at assisting the vulnerable children who are out of school.
