Chiroman Dukku in brief

As relatives and well wishers mourn the death of Chiroman Dukku, Engineer Yakubu Rasheed, who died on Saturday, political associates have been extolling his virtues, with many describing him as humble person who showed respect to people.
The deceased started serving Gombe State during the leadership tenure of Governor Abubakar Hashidu, as the Chairman of the Gombe State Water Board, where he contributed alot in the development of the state’s water supply.
Late Engineer Yakubu Rasheed, had also served as a board member of National Broadcasting Corporation, where he represented Gombe State, when Ibrahim Dankwambo, was governor. Rasheed was said to have showed commitment to the improvement of broadcasting in Nigeria, Gombe State in particular.
As a grassroot politician, he once contested the primaries as a member of House of Representatives for Dukku under All Nigeria Peoples Party. He had played a significant role in the politics of Gombe State.
His commitment was further exemplified through his service during the 2023 APC Presidential Campaign.
His memory will remain and the absence will be felt in people’s heart due to his attitude of sending Friday SMS to friends and relatives, especially weekend greetings.
May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and reward him with Aljannat Firdaus.
