Heartland denies short-changing players on Uzodinma’s gift
The Management of Heartland Football Club of Owerri has denied allegations that it has short-changed players from the donation doled by the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma.
Recall that Uzodinma following the Football Club’s performance made donations to players, team and its management.
In a press statement signed by the management of the club, it exonerated itself from the news about the conduct of officials to rob players of their money.
The statement partly read, “The management of Heartland wishes to use this medium to dissociate herself from the misinformation making the rounds about short-changing players in the Governor Uzodinma’s largese.
“Heartland is eternally grateful to the Executive Governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodinma for his magnanimous gift.
“However it is very unfortunate and discouraging that some disgruntled elements who are anti government have concucted lies and propaganda to tarnish the image of the Honourable Commissioner, the Management and our darling Club.
“These mischief makers who thrive in controversy watched in utmost bewilderment as the Honourable Commissioner toiled tirelessly alongside the Management and the Coaches for the club to bounce back to the top flight unscathed unhurt and unbeaten.”
According to the officials, efforts were made to ensure that everyone got their due, stressing that it would not accept social media ridicule.
“We want to state categorically that the club did the needful in terms of reticulating the Largese as directed by the Governor, However, issues concerning who got what is an internal matter.
“The Club did not assemble or enter into any contract with any player on social media and as such will not tolerate being ridiculed with malicious and unfounded rumors.
“The Management warns that she will not hesitate to take legal action against these Apostles of Mischief and professional blackmailers.
“The Management is focused on her preparations for the new season and will not succumb to cheap blackmail from never dowells who are intent on whipping up propaganda against the Government and her officials .
“Finally Heartland has her official channels of communication and as such any aggrieved person can channel such through the Management or through the Club’s Email address
