NPFL Board postpones 2023/24 kickoff
The Management of Nigeria Premier Football League has announced its decision to postpone 2023/24 season kickoff.
According to a press statement issued on Wednesday by the Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, a new date would be announced soon.
Recall that initially management had announced September 9 as commencement of the much anticipated season.
However, no reason was provided by Owumi in issued statement as its reason.
Owumi’s press statement partly read, “The Board of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) wish to inform you that the scheduled kickoff for the 2023/24 season has been put on hold and a new date will be communicated to you. This is due to the exigencies connected to the sponsorship of the League.
“Note therefore that there will be no flag-off game this Saturday, September 9 as originally planned. This is for your information and necessary action please.”
