NSCDC Commandant refutes comment on patronage of Gidan Galas
……pleas for release of suspects

The Gombe State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Muhammad Bello Muazu, has refuted comments allegedly credited to him that the gala houses were patronised by some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress but rather cuts cross all strata.
Mu’azu who was alleged to have said that those begging for the release of the suspects were members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, he denied the comments saying they were unfounded.
The State Commandant who had summoned the Reporter of Vanguard over the report, while disclosing that over 50 girls including married women which according to him, some of them have tested been for HIV, adding that some are currently being kept in their custody as 4.55 pm on Thursday .
Earlier, Commandant Mu’azu, who spoke to the Reporter on phone through his Public Relations Officer’s number, Sa’ad Buhari, lamented the impact of the publication.
He disclosed that they were trying to clean the society through the raid in the Gala Houses and joints of criminals and other activities.
Mu’azu further invited the Reporter to come to his office on Thursday evening to see for himself the arrested suspects and ascertain his arguments.
Meanwhile, the PRO of NSCDC, Buhari, initially had called the Reporter to Government House at about 2.47 pm over the report which the Reporter turned down, informing them that if they had anything against the report that they should write to Vanguard Newspaper and complain officially.
Also, it was later discovered that the State Commandant with some members of the State Taskforce Committee also invited the State Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Saidu Malala and Chairperson of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Hajara Leman, to the meeting.
It will be recalled that the 16-member Taskforce Committee was inaugurated on Wednesday, 6th of September, 2023 at the Government House, Gombe.
The team was inaugurated by the Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who was represented by Secretary to Government of the State; Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi.
