It was a bumper harvest of some sort as imo athletes in the just concluded 3rd edition of CLIMM SOUTHEAST UNDER 16 CHAMPIONSHIP comes to an end with imo athletes wining seven Gold medals, nine silver medals and two bronze medals.
The sporting event which held at umuahia,Abia State provided an opportunity for imo young athletes to showcase their talents.
Imo State commissioner for sports, Hon Emeka Okoronkwo who was on ground to boost morale of the young athletes of Imo extraction expressed satisfaction on the teams performance, stressing the positive impact Gov Hope Uzodimma’s investment in sports has yielded.
According to Hon Emeka Okoronkwo, it would be very difficult for Imo State not to win medals in any sporting activities, ” Gov Hope Uzodimma has made sports attractive in imo State, as youths now channel their energy to productive activities as sports”
Imo State was represented by nine girls and 12 boys with Sir Ferdinand Emeana the Director of sports on the sideline guiding and directing the team to Victory.
