Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has led a government delegation on a condolence visit to the family of the late Permanent Secretary, Government House, Barrister Balarabe Poloma, on Monday in Gombe.

The Governor, who sympathised with the bereaved family for the profound loss of a remarkable man described him as hardworking, humble, patient, and consistent individual for his public service ideals.

He praised the late Poloma’s unwavering commitment to upholding due process in all his public service endeavors, underscoring that his rare attributes had led him to ponder who would fill the void left by Poloma’s impending retirement. Little did he know that God Had other plans.

Yahaya expressed his deep sorrow at the loss of a rare gem within the Gombe State civil service, emphasizing that Poloma’s passing had left an immense vacuum.

The Governor directed the Deputy Governor and the Secretary to the State Government to ensure the proper arrangements for a dignified burial befitting a man of his stature.

“On behalf of myself, my family, and the entire Gombe State Government, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the grieving family for this profound loss,” the Governor conveyed.

The Governor was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, and other government officials.

Meanwhile, Barrister Poloma, aged 60, died on Sunday, October 8, 2023, after a brief illness.

He was set to retire next week, marking the end of a long and meritorious service to our dear state with the privilege of serving as Permanent Secretary during the administrations of three different governors in Gombe State.
