World Egg Day: AIT Farms distribute 3,000 eggs to six public schools in Gombe
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, AIT integrated farms marked World Egg Day in six public schools across Gombe State by distributing fresh 3000 boiled eggs to school going children in the most disadvantaged communities.
Our correspondent reports that the day is set aside annually by the management of the AIT Integrated Farms to give back to the society as much as they can.
The theme for this year’s celebration ‘Eggs for a healthy future’, highlights the power of the egg in improving nutritional, societal and environmentally sustainable outcomes, leading to healthier futures for all.
The event took place in various school premises on Friday October 13, 2023 to mark the World Egg Day
The event will kick off today Friday October 13, 2023 to mark the *World Egg Day*Speaking, the promoter of the Farms, Mallam Abubakar Inuwa Tata, stated that egg is the most affordable source of nutrients in Nigeria compared to other substitutes in terms of nutritional value as one egg has only 75 calories but 7 grams of high-quality protein, 5 grams of fat, 1.6 grams of saturated fat, along with iron, vitamins, minerals and carotenoids, urging residents to eat at least one egg a day.
