APGA urges Adeleke to prioritise youth employment, alleviate pensioners’ poverty

The All Progressive Grand Alliance has lauded Governor Ademola Adeleke, on the occasion of his one-year anniversary in office. While acknowledging the governor’s commendable initiatives and initial strides towards the development of the state, APGA deems it necessary to draw attention to the critical issues of widespread youth unemployment and the dire conditions faced by pensioners, many of whom are enduring abject poverty.In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Party in the state, Wole Adedoyin, it was emphasized that while Governor Adeleke has demonstrated a commitment to the progress of Osun State over the past year, the true measure of success lies in sustained efforts and tangible outcomes that positively influence the lives of citizens.APGA urged Governor Adeleke to maintain a focus on the welfare of the people, recognising the significant challenges posed by a high number of jobless youths and pensioners experiencing economic hardship. As the leader of the state, prioritizing the well-being of citizens, especially the vulnerable segments of the population, should be at the forefront of governance.While celebrating achievements, it is crucial to address the concerns of those most affected by economic challenges. The youth, representing the future of the state, are grappling with high levels of unemployment, hindering their ability to contribute meaningfully to society. Simultaneously, pensioners, who have dedicated their lives to public service, find themselves in dire financial straits, demanding immediate attention and intervention.APGA believed that Governor Adeleke has the potential to bring about positive change and alleviate the suffering of the people. The party encouraged the governor to intensify efforts in implementing sustainable policies that will create employment opportunities for the youth and improve the living conditions of pensioners. A comprehensive approach to governance that addresses these pressing issues will undoubtedly contribute to the overall development and prosperity of Osun State.Finally, APGA reiterated its congratulations to Governor Ademola Adeleke on his first year in office and expressed optimism for the positive transformation of Osun State.
