The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division has reserved judgement in an appeal filed by Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State challenging the judgement of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal that sacked him from office.
Chairman of the three-member panel of the Appellate Court, Justice Onyemenam Uchechukwu, announced this after counsels of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress adopted their written briefs in Abuja on Wednesday.
The Court, therefore reserved its judgement to a date that will be communicated to parties by the Appellant Court in due time.
Recall that On October 2, 2023, the Tribunal sacked Governor Sule and declared PDP’s David Ombugadu as the lawfully elected Governor of the State in the 2023 general elections.
Unsatisfied by the judgement, Governor Sule filed an appeal urging the Appellate Court to set aside the judgement and affirm his victory as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
