Lobi Stars defender, Sunday Chinedu, has received the Rt. Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange, Man of the Match award after a superb display against visitors, Sporting Lagos in the Nigeria Premier League Football Matchday eight encounter at the Lafia City Stadium, Nasarawa State on Sunday.
Presenting the award and a cash donation to the winner (Chinedu) on behalf of the Commissioner, Mr. Benjamin Anongoh, thanked the ever-present defender for his wonderful performance to ensure his team defeated the Lagos based-club, the victory which was crucial to help the team remain top of the NPFL table, adding that his perfect aerial duels situation and composure at the backline played a key role in the victory.
The State Commissioner for Youths, Sports and Creativity added that, he has embarked on this initiative of rewarding hard work that would motivate the players who are the actors on the pitch and for the award to spur them to do more for the club.
The former Benue Speaker congratulated the winner Sunday Chinedu, and wished him well in future matches. The recipient, Chinedu while receiving the award lauded his partnership at the centre of defence with Moses Tsehuan, and thanked God for his first league goal for Lobi Stars. Lobi Stars Media.
