Periscope Nigeria gathered that it was in a bid to reduce hardship among indigent students of the Federal University kashere as many were considering dropping out of school.

Speaking, Programme Manager of the Organisation Malam Yahaya Mohammed, disclosed that the beneficiaries were selected based on their priority of need.

According to him, the organisation was convinced that it was dealing with the right individuals as they were made to show their portals to authenticate their statuses as bonafide students and their inability to meet up with payment.

Mohammed said, “Female students were also considered in the intervention. The intervention was given based on beneficiary’s priority areas. Our support is 25 per cent of total fees to 35 students who were carefully selected.”

Commenting further on the interest of the organisation, Mohammed said the organisation’s main objective is youth and educational development hence, this intervention.

He lauded the chairman of the organisation for his concerted efforts, especially in providing succour to poor and vulnerable, adding that this would go a long way in the society.

Mohammed, therefore, used the opportunity to thank the chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Bose Kumo and the entire members of the Newage for making sure the students get the intervention and for making the support available at the right time.

The Programme Manager also called on other stakeholders in the state, especially philanthropists to rise to the occasion to ensure that no students’ education would be affected, “I wish to call on our politicians, business men and women to follow the steps of our chairman Alhaji Mohammed Bose Kumo, by supporting as many indigent students as possible. No student should be allowed to drop out over this inconsiderate fees increase,” he added.
