There is a wise saying that “Until the lion tells the story, the hunter will always be the hero”
Hajiza Gabon Room Talk is now the lioness Of The Arewa Entertainment Industry.
In an era where reality tv shows and documentaries are the major keys in which unlock and seals the gaps then breaks the barriers of “hearsay” in digital story telling eco space arewa has been left far behind.
There are only a few media houses that review movies or invite movie stars, musician and other celebrities for a chit chat session, examples is like Arewa 24 (Zauren Kannywood)
Hadiza gabons room talk is the first of its kind as a private entity to bring forth numerous personalities of different craft and creativity in one space, she have access to most of the A class arewa celebrities.
The show engages celebrity’s through exploring in depth questions about their real life experieces and encounters.
These celebrities get invitaions to participate as guests in the talk show, where they discuss at length and clear the air on most of the ongoing controversial issues about them or the industry at large. This gives people the sense of belonging they so much crave for which tends to make people realise that celebrities are humans too and they have their perfect imperfections.
The show guides people towards having a better understanding through their real narratives. So instead of saying “they said Ali Nuhu said”. Everyone heard him say it by himself on her show.
One of my favourite sessions of the room talk was the one she held with Ali Nuhu Better Known As “Sarki Ali”, it caught my attention because he spoke extensively on one of the predominant challenges in the kannywood or arewa movie sector as a whole. Ali Nuhu whom often times people say he doesn’t need an introduction.
He is an actor, who has been in the movie industry for about 25 years
Ali Nuhu also said that he had once submitted his movie to Neflix, but it had not been featured.
“He said why arewa movies do not make it to the Netflix. (A streaming platform were most lf the best quality movies are been show cased).
Ali Nuhu a is legendary household name in both Nollywood and Kannywood, Often times he is adressed as “Sarki Ali”. Meaning (King Ali)
In his interview at Gabons Room Talk, According to Daily trust “Ali nuhu said:
“Anybody can have their movie on Netflix if the movie meets up with the needed requirements. However, there are vendors who are the ones to market your movies to Netflix. So most of those vendors prefer to market the movies of those with whom they have some personal relationships with
“unlike the southern movie producers, Kannywood had not been using sophisticated equipment in shooting movies”.
Veteran actor Ali Nuhu, also added that “part of the reasons a movie from the northern nigerian film industry (known as Kannywood) have not featured on the popular video streaming service, Netflix, is due to the sub-standard equipment used in shooting movies and cinematography that do not usually meet the required standards.
“And even if we have the required equipment, there’s also the issue of the crew. For instance, in Nollywood, I acted in movies where most of the crew were foreigners.
But that doesn’t mean Kannywood doesn’t have the capacity to make quality movies.
The difference is about the hard work and the dedication to produce movies that will reach international standards.”“Now with the coming of Amazon, Netflix has been trying to consider movies from northern Nigeria, the way Amazon has been trying to do.
“So Amazon has given us the opportunity to submit our movies and could possibly be considered,” he said.
He then added ‘I don’t have plans to stop acting’
The movie star also said that he does not have any plans to quit acting, because it is the business he has been doing all his life.
“When I started acting in movies, I was a young man appearing as a lover, singing and dancing. Then I was transformed by age to being a father. So, gradually, I’ve been taking up different roles as conditioned by nature, allowing other people to occupy roles I previously occupied.
In the same session he admitted polygamy doesn’t appeal to him.
He made emphasis on the importance of the mentorship he had with the previous veterans and affirmed that one can always get a boost to be a step ahead when he or she leverages on mentorship opurtunities. As someone who has high aspirations to build a carreer in the movie sector, Gabon's room talk has answered most of the questions i would have loved to ask Ali Nuhu In person, She has indeed become a medium of access and as well a strong force of pushing the real narratives of digital story telling space in arewa and the world at large, behold a pillar that bridges the Barrier. For me she has broken the barrier in accessing the Legendary Sarki Ali the show goes way beyond just looking at the surface, but it dives thoroughly into modifying our previous perceptions about celebrities and their lifestyle, like wise how things are done in the industry. It gives the viewers a better understanding of whom their stars are, likewise a firm believe in their efficiencies and where they need motivation.
There are various talk shows in arewa, one of this shows is by a popular Kannywood director, Kamal S. Alkala, called “Dandalin Fasaha”, and one by Mansurah Isah “Gwani na gwanaye”, and another show that is ‘Mushakata’ by the veteran Ibrahim Mandawari.
But Gabon’s room talk stands tall amongst them all as many super stars, musicians, producers, directors and actors are still rushing into the show.
Hadiza Gabon Room talk is now a major platform which serves as a medium where one could get a better insight and as well a deepened level of undertanding of What? Why? When? Where and How things are done, formally with their actors and later the industry at large.!The best way to get an acurate revelation they say, is from the horses mouth. The methodologies used in asking the question is what resonates with the audience inturn it makes people to genuinely relate, it makes the viewers to appreciate celebrities more, people tend to regulate their over expectations and judge them less, further more even boosting up the morals of the celebrities where and when needed, because they have a better understanding of who he/she is, it makes people to see celebrities for what they truly are "Humans In an interview with TRT Afrika (Hausa)
Hadiza Aliyu Gabon said “what actually inspired her to begin the talk show was watching the likes of steve harvey, ellen, oprah, and this happens most often at night when she is less busy, and all of a sudden she fell in love with the programmes because of how people were honest and opended minded. it was very easy for her to relate so she decided to domesticate in respect to our norms, culture and values here in Arewa.
In the interview when asked about how she usually ask people tough question, She responded and made it clear that anyone who was invited for her program often times come fully prepared because most of the people have watched the previous episodes of the show and they have glimpse of what to expect.
She further appealed to those whom picked any offence, she extended her sincere apology and as well to journalist who think she has gotten into their scope of activity, she reassured them that she will get better in line with the professional ethics”.
