The Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the release of the sum of N693 million to the Gombe State Agency for Community And Social Development for the third batch of intervention under the GO-CARES Programme.

The General Manager of the CSDA, Haruna Ahmed Imam, disclosed this at the end of training for community groups and project management committees and sub committee heads on micro projects implementation across 77 additional communities.
Imam further revealed that the release of the funds by the state governor followed the successful implementation of projects executed by the CSDA under the GO-CARES programme.
He therefore commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for supporting the CSDA projects saying Gombe State is performing greatly among other benefitting states .

The General Manager also explained that the training is to enlighten benefitting communities on the concepts of project cycles, roles and responsibilities ,sustainability and maintenance, community procurement, financial management and book keeping.
Addressing participants drawn from across the 11 Local Government Areas of the State, the General manager congratulated them on the inclusion of their various communities to benefit from the intervention which cut across health, education,nutrition and water.

He urged the committees to maintain standard and ensure that they monitor the execution of the project to completion and ensure sustainability .
CSDA’s Manager Basic Services Mr Labilwa Ismaila, Manager Finance and Administration Ibrahim Abubakar Gwani and the Manager Monitoring and Evaluation Sani Adamu said the respective communities are to contribute five percent while ninety five percent of the project fund comes from the agency .
They said it is expected that the people should own the project hence their contribution of the five percent saying the funds that would be disbursed in trenches, are to be used for the purpose meant for.
Some of the participants which include Mrs Josephine Malang, from Shongom Local Government Area and Sani Kinafa, from Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area also appreciated the State government and the CSDA for the intervention saying the project touches directly on the masses especially those at the grassroot.
Alhaji Saleh Danburam who was at the training on the capacity of being the community leader of Daban Fulani commended governor Inuwa Yahaya for touching lives of the common and called on benefiting community to execute the project according to specification.
Prior to the training,CSDA had conducted Needs Assessment, Participatory Rural Appraisal, and Field Appraisal in the communities,while Community Project Launch will follow suit .
It would be recalled that the CSDA has just completed similar projects in about 30 communities spread across the state in the first and second phases of the GO-CARES programme.
