Hausa musicians beg Buhari over Rarara’s outburst
Some Hausa musicians under the aegis of One Voice Association on Tuesday dissociated themselves from recent verbal attacks on the former President Muhammadu Buhari, by his Hausa Chief Musician, Dauda Kahutu, popularly known as Rarara.
Rarara had recently in a widely circulated video clip, verbally attacked Buhari, describing his government as a total failure which plunged Nigeria and Nigerians into severe socio-economic crisis.
In the clips, Dauda Kahuta Rarara, said, “Three months of President Ahmad Bola Tinubu’s government is far better than the whole of former President Buhari’s eight years because he has nothing to show that he has done for the country”.
However, in what they described as blatant lies and an open betrayal of trust and confidence, the One Voice Association said while addressing newsmen on Tuesday in Kano, that Rarara was on his own with the opinions he expressed against the former president.
The Chairman of the Association, and also a Hausa musician, Ali Jitta, noted that they respect elders, especially in the course of their doing their job.
“It’s not in our tradition, value or moral upbringing to attack leaders who have served the country diligently.
“No matter what, President Buhari has done his best for the country and like every human being has his own shortcomings, ” he said.
Also speaking, the Vice Chairman of the association, Ado Isa Gwanja, said they would visit the former President in Daura to ask his forgiveness on what they termed a baseless outburst of Rarara against him.
“And we are hereby disassociating ourselves from whatever Rarara said against Buhari it is never in our habits and does not form the kind of people we are, because we are very respectful of our leaders and any other person that deserves respect.”
The spokesperson of the Association, Muhammad Birniwa called on Nigerians not to see them the way Rarara portrayed himself as he does not represent their views, emotions and values.
