The Gombe State council of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, has formally presented Mrs Comfort Amos Mukollo, as its candidate for the position of the zonal vice president of NAWOJ in the forthcoming National Delegates Conference of the association.

Presenting the candidate before members of NAWOJ, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Comrade Sa’idu Bappah Malala, said Mukollo’s candidature is a collective decision of key stakeholders in the zone.
Malala added, “every member of the association is a stakeholder in the struggle”, while urging Nawojians to give their maximum support and cooperation through effective contacts and mobilisation across states of the North-East.

While describing Mukollo as strong and vibrant member of the NUJ and NAWOJ, Malala reassured support of the NUJ toward ensuring her victory at the polls.

In a goodwill message, the Deputy National President of the NUJ Malam Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi, congratulated Gombe Council of NAWOJ for producing a candidate for the Zonal Vice President, adding that “canvassing for support from sister organisations within the zone is not an easy task.”
Abdullahi called on all members of NAWOJ to work as a team for success.

Also in a remark, the Special Assistant to the NUJ President Mr Peter Mele, encouraged the council to set up a formidable team, “that will penetrate and bulldoze all states of the North-East with confidence for victory,” Mele said.
Similarly, the state Secretary of NUJ Alhaji Danjuma Mohammad Kala, who spoke on behalf of the radio chapel of NUJ and the Chairman of Television chapel Comrade Umar Shuaibu, stressed the importance of unity in achieving any set goal and urged all stakeholders to be committed.
The state chairperson of NAWOJ Bome Aaron Samutar, had earlier in a remark, expressed confidence in Mukollo’s victory and applauded all members for their encouragement and support to the executive of the association.
On her part, the candidate, Mukollo appreciated NUJ Gombe State Council, members of NAWOJ and all stakeholders for the confidence they have reposed in her and for the opportunity to vie for the post.
She acknowledged that her success depends on their support and solicited for constructive advise to enable her gain support from states within the zone.
