The Nigerian Bar Association, Gombe State Branch has condemned attack on its members by yet-to-be identified persons.

Our correspondent reports that Upper Area Court Judge III Ayuba Buba-Dalas, Barrister Usman Yahaya and a Buba-Dalas’ staff were injured by mob.
According to a press statement signed by the Chairman Barrister Benjamin Sati, the Branch noted that it visited the victims’ residents, vowing that the perpetrators would be prosecuted in due time, following its collaboration with the police.

The statement partly read, “The members of the Gombe Branch paid visit to the Upper Area Court Judge that was attacked at in quo and the Plaintiff’s Counsel in persons of Ayuba Buba-Dalas and Usman Yahaya Esq. In their respective residences in Gombe metropolitan.
“The Branch condemns in totality the barbaric dastardly act of some mischief makers in coordinating the attacks. We shall by the grace of God liase with relevant stakeholders to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book.

“Mr Usman Yahaya whose injury is grievous is responding to treatment and we call on members to remain calm and cooperate with the EXCO to follow up this issue.”
While decrying the impact of the assault on the jurist and the others, Sati urged members to be cautious, adding that they are all endangered species.
“This is a sign that nobody is safe and we all are endangered species. I have made contact with the IPO in Talasse Division and we hope to engage the office of the Commissioner of Police through the Officer-in-Charge of Legal who was in the entourage for this visit for necessary assistance,” the statement added.
