Gombe state Commissioner for Water, Environment and Forest Resources, Mohammed Saidu Fawu, on sunday led a technical Commitee of expert Engineers from the North-East Development Commission Headquarters Maiduguri, who were in the state for Inspection of critical infrastructures in need of urgent intervention.

Fawu alongside the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry and Directors and some Technical Staff took the NEDC Team to Balanga Dam where irrigation activities has been stalled for some years for inspection of facilities in need of urgent intervention for dry season farming.
The NEDC through the team of experts promised to facilitate urgent intervention so that irrigation activities especially during the dry season farming would commence without further delay.

The team were also at the Dadinkowa Water Treatment plant and they assured that rehabilitation of the facility will be done to enhance the productivity of the facility and increase daily water supply to the growing population of Gombe metropolis and environs.
Fawu expressed delight over the Commission’s desire to revamp the facilities, “as it is timely and urgently needed. We will continue to partner with NEDC,” he added.
