COMMUNIQUÉ OF THE SECOND STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING OF APGA OSUN

The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA Osun) concluded its second state executive council meeting at the NUJ Press Centre, Osogbo, on October 2nd, 2023.

After exhaustive discussions on party and state matters, the following resolutions were reached:

1. APGA Osun commended National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, for his transparent leadership and preparations for forthcoming Governorship Elections in states like Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa.

2. The party warmly embraced the electronic membership card initiative, database, mobile application, and ongoing website design, demonstrating Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa’s commitment to elevating the party.

3. APGA Osun expressed confidence in the National Vice Chairman (Southwest), Alh. Suraj Olanrewaju, applauding his efforts in restructuring and repositioning the party in the Southwest region for future Elections.

4. APGA Osun advised Governor Ademola Adeleke to ensure transparency in the handling and distribution of palliative funds, rice, grains, and fertilizers provided by the Federal Government. These resources are meant to alleviate the impact of fuel subsidy removal on the people of the state.

5. The party tasked Governor Ademola Adeleke to promptly pay outstanding salaries and pensions owed to workers and retirees in the state, aiming to alleviate the hardships faced by all levels of workers and pensioners.

6. APGA Osun urged Governor Ademola Adeleke to reposition the state’s health sector for effective service delivery.

7. Osun APGA charged Governor Ademola Adeleke and security agencies to rein in non-state actors, combat hateful rhetoric, and protect all communities.
The party calls on elected and appointed public leaders in the state to uphold constitutional obligations, ensuring a peaceful resolution of all issues.

8. The party continued its membership recruitment drive, encouraging interested citizens in Osun to join and embrace the party’s ideals.

9. APGA Osun is actively restructuring and revamping both local government and ward structures for enhanced effectiveness.
