Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, sent the name of Miss Musa Nafizat Buge, an ex-NYSC member to the state House of Assembly as a Commissioner-nominee.
The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Salihu-Danladi announced this in Ilorin, the state capital on Wednesday during the sitting of the Assembly.
The Speaker announced at the Assembly plenary that the screening of the nominee of the governor of Kwara state, Buge will hold on Thursday, 21st December,2023.
Buge, an ex-NYSC member who has just completed her one year mandatory service in the state is the second person to be appointed by the governor as a Commissioner in the state after Miss Johana Nnazua Kolo who served as commissioner during the first term of the governor between 2019 and 2023.
Reacting to the nomination, the NYSC Coordinator in Kwara State, Mr Onifade Olaoluwa, on behalf of the Director-General of the Scheme, Brigadier General Yisha’u Ahmed, appreciated Governor AbdulRazaq for the honour bestowed on the patriotic Nigerian which he described as a clear testimony of the passion the number one citizen of Kwara State has for the graduate youths.
Onifade said that the kind gesture of the governor was an incontrovertible fact that given the right atmosphere, the graduate youths will excel in whatever capacity they are placed considering the training they have undergone beginning with the orientation course and throughout the service year.
“Your consideration of someone who has just finished the service has filled the Scheme and the entire youth constituency in the state with a strong sense of pride and I would like to appreciate His Excellency for this rare feat and singular honour done to boost the morale of the youths,” he said.
He stated further that the governor continued support for the Scheme and entire youths was a clear example that the youth-friendly leadership style of AbdulRazaq is worthy of emulation, and he applauded the administration as epitome of honour to the youths.
The NYSC helmsman in Kwara State used the platform to congratulate the Commissioner-designate, on the honour bestowed on her and asserted the she would continue to remain a proud ambassador of the Scheme.
The NYSC coordinator added, “It is on record that Buge served the nation diligently and meritoriously by contributing her quota to the development of the fatherland. The nominee is indeed a true patriot with exceptional zeal who participated profoundly in both community and national development.”
