Rev. Stephen Mamza, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Adamawa chapter, has urged Christians to renew hope and trust in God for more blessings head of 2024.
Mamza, who is the Catholic Bishop of Yola, made the call in his 2023 Christmas sermon in Yola on Monday.
He said that in spite of the economic and security challenges in some parts, people should not lose hope in the country.
He added that “Emmanuel is with us; God is with us; definitely, things will not continue the way they are going.
“We believe that things will be better in the future, so, lets hope that in the coming year, things will be better.”
According to him, Jesus Christ came to the world to save humanity.
He, therefore, urged Christians to emulate the humility of Christ to serve brothers and sisters, ?as well as the needy in the society.
Mamza said Christmas become a perennial reminder for enduring message of hope, courage and trust in God’s graciousness.
“It is nothing short of a reminder to us as Christians that God is not distant, but intimately involved in our human experiences.
“Our hope as Christians therefore is built and supported in the belief that through Jesus, lasting peace and reconciliation are possible,” he added.
He further called on Christians to contribute positively toward peaceful coexistence in the state, the nation and the world at large.
