Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, is set to present the 2024 budget to the state House of Assembly on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the Assembly Complex.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Director-General Press Affairs Ismaila Misilli.
According to Misilli, ahead of this presentation, the state government took steps to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive budget formulation process by holding a town hall meeting where it gathered the insights, desires, and aspirations of the citizens for integration into the budget framework.
The statement partly read, “The citizens engagement was hosted by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.
“Traditional rulers, community leaders, members of civil society organisations and people with special needs among others, participated in the consultative meeting.”
Misilli disclosed that the proposed budget underwent rigorous assessment and discussion by the Gombe State Executive Council, adding “Governor Yahaya’s budget presentation tomorrow is a culmination of concerted efforts and a reflection of transparency, public participation, and governmental diligence in addressing the state’s fiscal priorities for the upcoming year.”
