The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has assured the management and players of Lobi Stars Football Club, that Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi will be fixed in a short time to enable the team play all her matches in the State.

The Governor gave the assurance during a courtesy visit on him by the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau and his entourage, the Deputy Gov and Chairman Lobi Stars Football Club, Barr Sam Ode, as well as the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Lobi Stars, Dominic Iorfa and Benue State Football Association Chairman Barr Paul Edeh at Government House in Makurdi.
“I can confirm that, the Commissioner of Youths, Sports and Creativity has been on my neck. Very soon Lobi Stars Football Club will return to Aper Aku Stadium, even before the League season runs out,” he stated.
Lobi Stars are presently playing their home matches in Lafia Township, in Nasarawa state.
Governor Alia said he was excited with the position of the club on the league table and commended the leadership quality of the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dominic Iorfa, for the team’s brilliant performance in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, so far.
Out of excitement, the Governor, turned to the direction of the Deputy Governor, Sam Ode and the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Club, Dominic Iorfa and said “Today I will grant all the requests of Lobi Stars”.
The action that generated standing ovation and applaud from the Vice Chairman, Dominic Iorfa.
Earlier, the NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusua, commended the Governor for the support he has given to the Barr. Edeh led Benue Football Association in the State.
The President, who promised to donate a trophy for the Governors cup tournament pleaded with the Governor to keep supporting Benue Football Association through the Ministry of sports.
