Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, on Friday signed the 2024 budget appropriation into law.
Kefas noted during the exercise in Jalingo that the appropriation was not just a mere financial plan but to ensure the desired development of Taraba State.
According to the governor, the resources were strategically allocated to address pressing developmental issue, forster economic growth and enhance development.
“The appropriation is a tool that empowers us to meet the need of our Communities and build a resilience and prosperous state. We are poise to creat a legacy of progress and prosperity for the generation to come,” Kefas expressed.
Earlier, the state house of Assembly had during the plenary, passed the budget with an increment of two billion naira.
Honourable John Kizito Bonzena, the Speaker of the house announced the resolution of the house that the 2024 appropriation bill, “Budget of moving forward,” strives to advance the state’s socio-economic development agenda through strategic investment in education, infrastructure, Health Care, Agriculture, Security and governance, the house in her wisdom increased the budget by two billion naira.
Bonzena said, “the budget which stand at Three Hundred and Thirteen Billion, Three Hundred and Eighty-Eight Million, Five Hundred and Twenty-Five Thousand, Six Hundred and Sixty-One Naira, Fifty-Six Kobo (N313,388,525,661:56k) only, is to ensure reality of the intended projects for the desired development of Taraba State.”
