Operatives of the Jigawa State Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers who are in the command’s wanted list.
The Command’s Assistant Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Isah, made the disclosure in a statement on Saturday in Dutse.
He said the duo were trailed and subsequently arrested on 12th December, 2023 at about 1330hrs in Kano.
He identified the suspects as Yusuf Yusuf, 25 of Katoge quarters Kazaure LGA and Umar Abubakar, 23 of Dakayyawa village, Kaugama LGA.
He recalled that, “On 19th July, 2023 at about 0230hrs, a distress call was received at Dutse Division that, hoodlums with weapons, numbering about five (5), trespassed into the house of one Sunusi Hudu ‘m’ of G9 quarters Dutse LGA, beat him up to a state of comer and robbed him one motor vehicle Honda Accord 2011 model black in colour, two (2) plasma television, one HP Laptop computer and one Redmi Note 11pro phone.
He stated that, “Fortunately, on 18th October, 2023 following a tip-off by the investigative team of State Criminal Investigation Department, Dutse, one Umar Abubakar ‘m’ age 28yrs of Bompai Miller Road, Kano state, Yakubu Mohammed ‘m’ age 24yrs, and Zakariyya Dahiru ‘m’ age 28yrs both of Yalleman town of Kaugama LGA, were arrested in connection with the offence.
“On interrogation, the duo suspects confessed to the commission of the crime allegedly against them,” he added.
He noted that all the suspects arrested will be arraigned in court for prosecution after a discreet investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Dutse.”
