…..warns against conducting business beyond 12 midnight
The newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command, CP Hayatu Usman has called on the DJs Association of Nigeria (DJAN), to preach peace and obedience to law and order.
The CP made this known in a courtesy visit, paid him by a delegation of the leadership of DJAN, led by the Deputy National President of the association, Thomas S. Abba (DJ Tomee Tee).
Lauding the delegation for the visit, CP Hayatu Usman, appreciated the role of DJs in making people happy, smile and douse tension in the society. The CP additionally warned against against conducting businesses beyond 12 midnight.
Usman said, “There is an order from the Chief Security Officer -The Governor of the state…on the restriction of movement (though not a curfew) beyond 12 midnight…so whatever you do, we don’t want it to be till dawn, if you do so, it’ll be in violation of the law, which has been duly promulgated by the Governor.”
He added that the law was made in good faith and has no intention to cause discomfort or make people uncomfortable to anyone but in the interest of peace.
“Preach peace, preach obedience to law and order so that everybody can be happy…thank you for coming and identifying with us, it shows we are together, my doors are always open,” he added.
While extending the greetings from DJAN national office, DJ Tomee Tee thanked the CP for his audience and congratulated him on the attainment of his prestigious office.
“As social entrepreneurs, there is need for us to have a cordial relationship with the Police, support you, and also inform you of some of our activities…as security is now every man’s business,” DJ Tomee Tee added.
The delegation on behalf of DJAN, expressed their commitment to ensure a sustainable working relationship with the Police for the peace and security of Gombe State.
