A suspected notorious kidnapper called Dogo Oro allegedly terrorising Bunza and Kalgo Local Government Areas in Kebbi State has been reportedly killed by a vigilante group at Tunga village, Tilli ward in Bunza Local Government Area.
Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to Kebbi State Governor disclosed this in a statement obtained by Periscope Nigeria on Friday.
The CPS noted that the Director Security, Cabinate Office, AbdulRahman Usman confirmed the development while giving an update on security situation in the state on Friday.
The statement partly read, “The suspected notorious bandit appeared this morning shooting people with bore and arrow, but our men of vigilante gunned him down to dead.”
According to him, the operation was conducted by vigilante, adding that “for our community to resettle down in their various homes and villages and go about their normal businesses, especially at Kanzanna general area.”
The director said the success stories were being recorded following the holistic and active approach and support to security agencies by the present administration led by the governor
“Sanusi Ibrahim-Geza, Kebbi State Commander, Vigilante has confirmed that the incident happened this Friday morning as reported by their Bunza LGA Commander, C/suv Faruku Mashayabo,” the statement added.
Usman, noted that the commander appealed to government to assist them with more arms and ammunition to enable them sustain the fight and ensure self defence, adding that the fight was getting hotter for the bandits in Bunza and Kalgo general area.
