……Doma United beat Kano Pillars 1-0
The Chief Coach of Kano Pillars Abdulahi Maikaba, says 18-year-old Yusuf Abdullahi, is under pressure after scoring five goals last Sunday against Gombe United Football Club.
He made this disclosure during a post-match conference at Pantami township stadium on Saturday after his team suffered a 1-0 defeat by Doma United Football Club.
According to him, no two games are the same, noting that Abdullahi’s performance today may be likened to the distraction he had experienced from recruits.
He said, “It’s two different games, two different teams and today is Saturday and the last time we played here was Sunday. You have to understand everything.
“You know he (Yusuf Abdullahi) is young, after scoring five goals there was a lot of pressure on the boy, most especially those that wants to sell him outside we had to even collect his phone to make him concentrate and I think this was part of his problem today.”
Asked if Doma United was better Gombe United he said, “No I don’t think so, Doma is just an up coming team. I will salute the proprietor of the club because with people like him football will improve in Nigeria.”
On his part, Technical Adviser of Doma United FC Akinade Onigbinde, lauded his team for their sterling performance.
Onigbinde debunked insinuations that his team were set out to avenge the loss of Gombe United FC, adding that they were out to grab their point.
“The players did a good job. We were not on mission of revenge what we did was to do our job which we did. We know Kano Pillars are also very good side they play good football,” he said.
