Following increased kidnapping and banditry activities in Federal Capital Territory, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has launched special intervention squad.
Disclosing this on Thursday, via the police X handle, Force Public Relations Officer CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said Egbetokun has declared war against armed bandits, criminals.


According to him, the squad will be launched nationwide to quel insecurity, adding that it commenced in Jos following the December eve invasion.
Adejobi wrote, “The Squad would be officially launched in the 36 states of the Federation.
“It was flagged off in Plateau State on 29th Dec, 2023, when the IGP paid a visit to Jos and the affected local government areas in the state.”
