The Police Command in Niger State has lost an Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Michael Katambi.
Katambi died on January 1 at the Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital, Abuja following a failed surgical operation.
The Command’s spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun made this known on Tuesday in a statement in which he said Katambi would be buried on Wednesday 10th January 2024 at his residence in Sabon-Wuse, Tafa LGA.
Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Shawulu Danmamman and officers of the Command commiserated with the family of the deceased while the CP described the officer as a diligent and quintessential gentleman.
“He was a thorough bred professional and crime fighter, and a consumate family man who is lost to the cold hands of death on the very first day of the year.
“We pray for the repose of the gentle soul of our dear brother, a colleague, a dogged crime fighter and a lover of peace May God grant the Command the fortitude to bear this great loss, give the courage, wisdom and strength to face the challenges in 2024.
“We shall remain undeterred, focused and carry on from where he stopped. He will be happier to see us do this and doing it with God’s leading direction and cover,” he stated.
Enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1997, Katambi was DPO ‘A’ Div Suleja and Area Commander New-Bussa, Niger State, before his demise.
