Professor Anthony Okorie Ani, has emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for February by-election for Ebonyi South senatorial zone.
The seat became vacant following the appointment of Engineer David Umahi, the immediate past Governor of Ebonyi State as Minister of Works by President Bola Tinubu.
Ani garnered 281 votes out of a total of 285 votes cast at the primary which held in Afikpo local government area on Saturday, January 6.
He will slug it out with candidates of Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party and others.
