The Nigerian Army made their intention known at the ongoing 2nd edition of Governor Abdullahi Sule Inter-Security Agencies Unity Cup Football Tournament as they walloped the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, by an outrageous 4-0.

Sahad Dahiru netted twice for his side in the 12th and 64th minutes of the highly entertaining duel, with Adesuyi Adebayo and Abdul Nura compounding the woes of the NDLEA opponents as each of them registered his name in the score sheet after finding the back of the net in the 59th and 72nd minutes respectively.

While it was the largest scoreline ever recorded since the beginning of the competition, it wasn’t enough to take the Nigerian Army’s team to the summit of the Group ‘B’ standings as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, were held to a goalless stalemate by a rejuvenated Federal Fire Service, side, in their second game of the tournament.

NSCDC currently signpost the Group ‘B’ table with four points followed by the Nigerian Army who have three.

NDLEA are third with three points with the Federal Fire Service occupying the fourth position with a point.

The Department of State Service, DSS, are yet to record any point after they lost their first match to the NSCDC 0-2.

Action resumes on Wednesday, 10th January, at the Lafia City Stadium, in Group ‘A’ as the Nigerian Correctional Service will look to upturn their 0-3 loss to the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, the previous day, when they host the Nasarawa State Agency for Youth Empowerment Scheme, NAYES, who won their first game by 2-0 against the Nigerian Immigration Service, by 2pm, while the Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, entertain the Nigerian Police Force, NPF, who are yet to record any point in the tournament by 4pm, same day.
