This collaboration, spearheaded by SYNW President, Wole Adedoyin, aims to provide a unique and transformative platform for young female writers across Nigeria, fostering their creative talents and showcasing their works to a global audience.

The renewed partnership also seeks to unite women writers under a structured framework of mentoring and support.

In a statement released by Wole Adedoyin, he emphasized the commitment to creating an ingenious, exploratory, and educational space for young female writers. This collaborative effort with the International Women Writing Guild will inspire and empower women writers, offering them invaluable opportunities for personal and professional growth in the realm of creative writing.

Michelle Miller, Director of the International Women Writing Guild, affirmed this commitment in a message dated December 29, 2023.

She expressed the Guild’s continued dedication to working closely with SYNW, particularly in grooming and enhancing the creative writing skills of female writers in Nigeria. The focus remains on providing a supportive environment where women writers can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the literary landscape.

The IWWG’s track record of success is evident, having registered over eighty Nigerian female writers as members in 2022 and 2023.

These members have had the privilege of participating in the Guild’s weekly, monthly, and quarterly literary webinars and events, enriching their knowledge and expanding their network within the global writing community.

Founded in 1976 by Hannelore Hahn, the International Women Writing Guild is a 501(c)3 non-profit writing organization with a mission to empower women writers both personally and professionally through the art of writing. The Guild has been recognized as an official Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with special consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council since 1998.

SYNW, as a member of the International Authors Forum (IAF), has a rich history of collaboration with various international organizations such as the Alliance Francaise, 100 Thousand Poets for Change, Milton Society of Georgia, Gibran National Museum, Woman Scream International Poetry and Arts Festival, and the International Human Rights Art Festival (IHRAF), among others.

The Society of Young Nigerian Writers looks forward to building on the success of this partnership, creating a vibrant and inclusive space where the voices of Nigerian female writers can resonate globally. Together with the International Women Writing Guild, SYNW remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of literary talents and fostering a supportive community for women writers in Nigeria and beyond.
