Nigeria’s Investigative Journalist, Olukemi Olunloyo, has alleged that new Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, has been accused of allegedly defrauding 33 Nigerians in the diaspora and home
of N20B worth of fake land investments and projects.
According to Olunloyo, Adeoye was introduced to the victims while on secondment in an African Union mission.
She disclosed this on verified X handle.
Olunloyo said, “They (victims) have hired three attorneys and petitioned IGP Kayode Egbetokun. It is a serious case where the alleged victims say they were bullied and threatened by the CP but they are going to fight back.
“They also claim CP Adeoye has moved his family abroad and planning to retire next month.”
While bemoaning the rate of Commissioners of Police involved in crime, disclosing that the immediate Anambra CP was also involved in crime.
“Why is Nigeria like this? Why are top cops involved in financial scandals? Here’s the first page of the 12 page highly confidential petition as leaked to me as an investigation journalist. It is truly disturbing. Adeoye was brought in to replace CP Echeng who has been implicated in the Anambra RSS story I just closed….and they are all retiring. Due to the fact that I’m retiring next week, I won’t be opening any new investigation,” She added.
