As the costs of food items are increasingly high the Assemblies of God, Church Gombe Number one, has distributed food items and assorted clothes to members, worth thousands of naira.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the distribution was done in order to cushion the effect of inflation facing the people.
The Area Secretary of Assemblies of Gombe Area who doubles as the lead Pastor of AGC Gombe Number one, Rev Ihemadu Levi Onyemaobi, charged members to fear God no matter the devices of the devil to confuse them in the ongoing negative trends people find themselves, following the overwhelming technological advancements.
Speaking on Sunday during the graduation of 10 members from the Children’s department to Adult department of the church, he said , “let the children come to me,” while taking his message from Matthew 19:14, “the doors of kingdom is always open to them because God so much love the children that he gave them access to his kingdom,” he added.
Onyemaobi explained that the food items were provided by Rev.Dr.Mrs. Chidinma Ozuonye, the wife of late Rev Dr Charles Ozuonye, who founded the Assemblies of God Dominion City New York USA.
The clergy tasked his members that if God starts a journey, no devil can stop it like a journey of marital life, business life, or otherwise, adding that God who started the journey would accomplish them.
He further pointed out the messages, God sent to them while quoting from the various chapters of the Bible which centred on the promises that Christians should not fear, that the only fear is reverence God who had destroyed fears in the lives of Christians.
Our correspondent reports that the highlight of the service was choir renditions, while prayers and supplication were made for the Dominion City, Assemblies of God,New York,USA and other sponsors who have been supporting the church, urging God to bless them abundantly for their show of love.
Some of the recipients of the items expressed appreciation to the leadership of the church whose effort and connection made it possible for them, especially the overseas partners for their show of love and support to the local church in Gombe.
