A committee for the resettlement of Fatima Ibrahim, mother of seven has presented its report to Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi.
The eight-member committee was constituted by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s administration on a receipt of a letter from the Yobe State Government informing the state that Fatima and her seven children were under their custody.
Our correspondent reports that the letter disclosed that Yobe State Government sent the letter as they sought clarity from the Gombe State Government on the status and identity of the woman who was said to have lived in Wuro Juli but at some point relocated to Damaturu the Yobe State capital.
The committee which was headed by the Executive Secretary State Emergency Management Agency SEMA Abdullahi Haruna Abdullahi, said the woman has since been settled in Damaturu the Yobe State capital through the efforts of the state government.
Haruna added that according to the committee’s findings the woman in question is not an indigene of Gombe State but hailed from Garba Shede of Taraba State.
Receiving the report, Njodi expressed gratitude to the committee for painstakingly unraveling the true status of the woman.
He recalled that before the woman relocated to Damaturu the Yobe State capital, Governor Yahaya had directed the provision of succour to her after some good Samaritan reported her sorry condition adding that, “the state government will study the report and act accordingly.”
