Nigeria labour Congress in Gombe State has joined the Nationwide protest in solidarity with directives of the national body to protest over the high cost of living and insensitive policies of the Federal Government amid worsening condition of Nigerians.
The Union which assembled in the Pantami Stadium this morning for the peaceful protest was addressed by the Deputy Governor, Dr Manassah Jatau, who represented the Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Secretary to Government of Gombe State; Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, and labour officials as well as other top government officials in attendance including the Gombe State Commissioner of Police, Hayatu Usman.

Reacting on the success of the protest, CP Hayatu Usman, who is the Commissioner of Police in Gombe State addressed the NLC protesters, Gombe branch who converged at the entrance of Pantami Township Stadium Gombe, calling for calm and peaceful protest.

He promised them adequate security coverage throughout the two days protest in the state.
“You can see the protest has been peaceful. I want to urge them to maintain the tempo, we will provide them needed security,” Usman added.
