The National Youth Service Corps says its expects no fewer than 1,570 Prospective Corps Members for 2024 batch “A” stream I orientation course commencing from Thursday, 15th February, 2024.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the course is expected to hold at NYSC’s temporary orientation camp located in Amada, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.
This is contained in a press statement issued on Tuesday, by Head, Public Relations Unit Jennifer Laha, on behalf of the state Coordinator Jidda Dawut.
The statement disclosed that Governor of Gombe State Muhammadu Yahaya, would preside the swearing-in ceremony, and Chief Judge Halima Mohammed, to administer oath of allegiance on the PCMs, on February 20.
“In Gombe State, the programme is scheduled to take place at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Government Science Technical College, Amada, Akko LGA and a total of 1,570 Prospective Corps Members are deployed to the State.
“The Formal opening / Swearing – in ceremony will hold on Tuesday, 20th February, 2024 at 10:00am. The Executive Governor of Gombe State, His Excellency, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, is expected to preside over the event, while the Chief Judge of Gombe State, Justice Halima Mohammed, will administer the Oath of Allegiance on the Corps Members deployed to the State for national service,” the statement partly read.
While calling for support for the PCMs, the statement urged for usual cooperation adding “We, therefore, enjoin the Peace loving people of Gombe State especially those around Akko LGA and environs to accord the Corps Members the usual hospitality and peaceful co-existence that Gombe State is known for.”
