The Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing Federal Constituency by-election, scheduled for February 3, 2024, was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

As a result, a rerun election was conducted in some polling units on February 14, 2024.
The final result of the election is expected to be announced on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
During the supplementary election, Hon. Aishat Barde, the Taraba State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, toured the affected polling units in her hometown, the Zing Local Government Area on Wednesday.
Her objective was to monitor the election at various polling units and ensure that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Sadiq Abbas Tafida, emerged victorious.
Barde expressed optimism that with the structure they have put in place, “people will vote for PDP as they massively voted for Governor Agbu Kefas during the 2023 general election,” adding that Tafida would win the election.
She commended Governor Kefas, his Deputy, Alhaji Aminu Alkali, the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Bonzena, the State Party Chairman, Elder Nuhu Abeh, the Chairman of Zing local government council, and other stakeholders for manifesting the Moving Forward Agenda of the present administration that makes the masses have faith in the PDP’s leadership.
Barde also appreciated the people of Zing LGA for their good conduct during the both re-run and supplementary elections and urged them to continue praying and supporting the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas to succeed in its Moving Forward Agenda of transforming the state and improving the livelihood of the citizens.
