Voting commenced on Saturday at exactly 8:30am at the Central Primary School polling units 003 in the Agaza electoral ward by-election to determine the actual of the Keana Constituency seat during the 2023 general election in Nasarawa State.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mohammed Adamu Omadefu, had been declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission after he beat his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party with 65 votes in the contest.
But unsatisfied with the declaration, the PDP candidate, Basil Osheka Agbo, approached the court where a verdict was given for a by-election in the five polling units of Agaza ward.
Our correspondent observed that voters were lined up and patiently waiting to exercise their franchise.
Security operatives were also seen in their numbers at the venue.
One of the voters, Pastor Patrick Korsha, said, “For now, we are satisfied with the process because it is going smoothly. We are hoping that the election continues peacefully until a winner is announced.”
