Governor Umaru Bago of Niger has instructed the immediate release of 22 male and three female demonstrators who expressed their dissatisfaction with the prevailing economic difficulties across the country. These individuals were unfortunately apprehended by the authorities on Monday in Minna.
The protesters were mistakenly arrested, as stated by Binta Mamman, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, during a news conference in Minna.
“The state government has directed the release of Aisha Jibrin and 24 others arrested by the police for leading the protest. They have been released and reunited with their families,’’ she said.
