Victor Osimhen, the current best footballer of the year has experienced unfortunate events of having four goals disallowed in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
The Napoli striker’s goals were disallowed for varying reasons.

Osimhen’s total tally would have made him a strong candidate for the top scorer in the 34th edition of the biennial African football tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
It could be argued that he has been one of the most unlucky players in this tournament.
Osimhen’s recent miss was the game against South Africa, where his goal was disallowed after the footage from VAR better known as Video Assistant Referee, which is a technology-aided officiating system intended to assist the on-field referees in a football match.
Over the past few years, Video Assistant Referee or VAR has become an integral element of football matches and AFCON 2023 is not an exception.
The number 9 Nigerian footballer, although has brought a lot of light and zeal to the team but it would have been exciting to have him earn the golden boot to cement his win as Africa’s best.
Although pundits have argued that the star has refused to be stingy with passes, as his assists have earned his teammates goals.
What the Napoli striker lacked in goals, he gets in his team’s performance, display which is better.
Some have maintained that it’s too early to write the star off following cancelled opportunities as he may yield surprises during the final against Ivory Coast on Sunday. Until then Osimhen, remains the most fortunate with or without goals.
