The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has given a deadline to individuals who have unlawfully put up buildings at the Abuja Technology Village, urging them to move out promptly or facing the wrath of the law.
The minister, during the inspection of the Pyakasa site in Abuja on Monday, alongside the Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, disclosed this information.
In 2015, the Federal Government, as announced by the FCT minister, reached an agreement with the unauthorized residents, instructing them to find new accommodations.
However, as the number of houses continued to increase, it became necessary to implement significant measures to reinforce the government’s message.
The minister of science and technology emphasized the significance of the Abuja Technology Village in hosting innovative technologies that the Federal Government intends to incorporate. Therefore, it is crucial to designate the area to entice investors and effectively reach its objectives.
