Following the redesignation of Salihu Alkali, current Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning from Gombe State Internal Revenue Service as Chairman, Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, has approved the appointment of first female chairman and executive directors for the service.
This was contained in a press signed by Director-General Press Affairs Ismaila Misilli, and conveyed by Secretary to Government of the State, Professor Ibrahim Njodi.
Njodi who conveyed the governor’s approval, said the appointments are to usher in a fresh wave of leadership that would foster a robust revenue generation framework in line with the state’s development agenda.
According to Njodi, “Aisha Adamu is appointed Chairman of the Gombe State Internal Revenue Service. She is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in financial management, and her expertise is expected to play a significant role in aligning revenue strategies with the state’s developmental goals.”
While expressing confidence in the capacity of the new appointees to bring their collective efforts and contribute significantly to the economic growth of Gombe state.
“The Executive Directors are Mohammed Kabir Shuiabu, (Gombe Central); Nasiru Garba (Gombe North); and Midah Buba Thomas, (Gombe South).
“All the appointments are with effect from 23rd February, 2024,” the statement partly added.
