Despite facing some controversy, The Labour Party (LP) has confirmed that its convention scheduled to take place in Nnewi, Anambra State tomorrow will proceed as originally planned. Obiora Ifoh, the acting National Publicity Secretary, has stated that everything is in place for the event to go ahead smoothly.
“Yes, the convention will hold as planned. Delegates have started arriving,”he said.
The National Chairman Julius Abure is facing off against the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) over the choice to host the national convention. The NLC is demanding his resignation.
