Dangote Refinery has increased its inventory of imported crude oil from the United States as a second shipment departed American waters for Nigeria on Friday.
A subsequent delivery of American light sweet crude oil was en route to Nigeria on Friday for eventual receipt by Dangote Refinery, as per information from a trader and data tracking the ship’s movements.
According to information from Kpler and LSEG ship tracking, it was reported by Reuters on Friday that the Vessel Otis, which recently departed Houston with approximately 850,000 barrels of WTI Midland on board, is indicating Lekki in Nigeria as its planned arrival port. The vessel is expected to reach its destination around the middle of March.
The initial delivery of two million barrels of American crude oil on the large oil tanker, Gem No. 1, which was also arranged by Vitol, was approaching Nigeria and is anticipated to be unloaded next week.
