Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has decorated the Government House Escort Commander, Auwal Bala Yakubu, with his new rank of Superintendent of Police, following his recent promotion from his previous rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police.

The Governor, represented by his Chief of Staff, Abubakar Kari, while performing the decoration exercise at his office on Wednesday, emphasised the importance of utilizing the new rank in enhancing the operations of the Nigeria Police, expressing confidence in Commander Yakubu’s capabilities, while urging him to continue his diligent service to the nation.
“I congratulate SP Auwal Bala Yakubu on this well-deserved promotion. This promotion is a reward of your commitment to service, and I hope it will motivate you to continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in your duties. I urge you to leverage this new role to advance the cause of the Nigeria Police and to remain a steadfast officer as you have consistently demonstrated throughout your career,” the Governor said.
In his response, SP Yakubu expressed gratitude to Governor Inuwa Yahaya for the rare privilege of decorating him with the new rank, pledging to uphold the values of integrity, discipline, and excellent service in his new capacity as a Superintendent of Police, while affirming his dedication to contributing to the collective efforts towards a safer and more secure Gombe state and Nigeria.
