…provides additional N10.4billion for 77km roads in four LGAs
No fewer than N43.130b was on Tuesday approved for ultra-modern governor’s residence, High Court and House of Assembly complex by Gombe State Executive Council at the 37th meeting.
The council meeting was presided by the Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya at the council chamber with Commissioners as members.
Briefing journalists on the memos approved by SEC, Commissioner for Information Tilde Mijiyanwa, noted that council approved after scrutiny.
The Information Commissioner disclosed that that council also approved N10 billion for construction of roads in four Local Government Areas of the state.
Mijiyanwa said, “Council approved for N14b High Court complex, N14b for House of Assembly Complex, N10.4b for roads, there is ultra-modern governor’s residence of about N15b.”
Explaining further Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport Usman Kalamu, on the ultra-modern structures said, “the ultra modern High Court is N14billion, for the house of Assembly it’s N14.23 billion, that of governor’s residence is N14.9 billion. Governor’s Lodge is going to be built there when the people vacant the places we are going to build it that place. Since it has been approved work will commence in earnest. Council approved construction of Gombe State Security, Traffic and Environmental Corps offices accommodations.”
Kalamu while providing details on the benefitting LGAs for the road construction added, “Council approved N10.4billion for 77km roads within Kwami, Funakaye Nafada, Yalmatu Deba Local Government Areas.”
Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Abdullahi Bello, lauded the governor for approving the construction of Gombe State Security, Traffic and Environmental Corps, offices accommodations, promising that there would be improved security.
He said, “The office will be built in town and we assure residents that it will help Operation Hattara to be more committed in providing security.”
